Sleeping

Sleeping by Hey Christine, on Flickr

Thanks to my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah, my Life Coach practicum, and assorted kinds of craziness, I’ve not posted here since mid-November. Oy vey. But now I’m back! (more…)

Talking About Identity

Screenshot 2014-03-14 08.44.39 Last June, my amazing friends Kaila Prins and Ito Aghayere interviewed me on their podcast, Finding Our Hunger. This was in the early days of the podcast, which has gone on to include luminaries such as Jimmy Moore, Liz Wolfe, Stefani Ruper, Dietitian Cassie, Abel James and others. Kaila and Ito have been guests hosts on the Living La Vida Low Carb Show and have generally gone from strength to strength. I am privileged to have been part of their beginning. (more…)

First of all, if you aren’t interested in BlackBox, you will be delighted to know that I have created a newsletter for it, and will no longer be putting blatantly BlackBox stuff on the blog itself (although I will be making pages on the website). (more…)

A screenshot of MailChimp’s process

Remember that I was planning to document the creation of an eBook? Well, that project has just got quite a bit more meta. As I create my BlackBox newsletter, I’m documenting the steps and I’m hoping to turn that process into an eBook. It might even be useful for somebody. (more…)

Artisan Bath Bars and more!

If you were one of those kind souls who subscribed to my previous newsletter, you will have noticed that it quietly fizzled out for lack of content. There’s a limit to even my ability to babble on about personal growth and the Lizard Brain and all that. But now I’m about to announce a new newsletter, one with a purpose. (more…)

lizard newsletter

I went to a fabulous MoMonday event yesterday, organised by the lovely and accomplished Stephanie Staples. Sprawled across the stage, right in front of the speakers, was this giant stuffed lizard. I kid you not.

You can read the newsletter I wrote about it here, but I wanted to make sure that you had the right links – I put the wrong ones in the newsletter, and unfortunately MailChimp won’t let me edit it after the fact. I will put this erratum in the next newsletter, too.

So much learning in such a short time! I hope your week is full of fun and learning, too!

Drowning

Drowning by Trai_, on Flickr

Yes, my blog is currently drowning in #BlogElul posts. This is going to carry on for a few weeks yet. So you are probably thinking, why would I still want to read this blog if I’m not interested in Judaism? (more…)

I'm Not From Here

I’m Not From Here

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about belonging and disassociation, connection and disconnection. Also about eating disorders, about food and control and expectations. I wrote a piece about it in my newsletter. If you are interested in such things, you can check it out in the archives, and then sign up. Otherwise, bounce away, nothing to see here, have a great day!

Public or Private?

Public or Private?

I don’t normally include an entire newsletter in a blog post, because I want you to subscribe to the newsletter for its exclusive content. But I’m making an exception now, because I want your input on this matter. So enjoy! (more…)

Streak

Streak by Velvet Elevator (Pandy Farmer), on Flickr

I broke my streak this week. I kept it up for 19 days, and as soon as I missed one day, I missed three. Funny how that works. But now I’m going again. What is it with streaks? (more…)
