Website Review – DUKEO

Duke Chapel

Wow, so my friend Holly Jahangiri told me that I have to check out a contest on this site called Dukeo. I’d never been there or heard of it, but when Holly tells me to do something, it’s usually a good idea to follow her advice. Especially where contests are concerned.

The contest requires a review of the website, so of course I had to click through to various blog posts and links. There’s a lot of good stuff – StΓ© clearly works on the generosity model, which I love. He’s giving away huge amounts of information for free. I was particularly taken by this Guide to List Building. As I’m trying to learn how to make a living online without being obnoxious, there’s lots of excellent information in there. He also offers free information on SEO, how to write engaging blog posts, etc.

The contest also demands to know what we don’t like about Dukeo. I must admit that, being used to the gentle tactics of Chris Brogan and his ilk, the brutal honesty of what the website is about jarred me a bit. Yes, I want to make money – but I really want to have a personal interaction with my community, not just act as if I do. Not that StΓ© is necessarily faking it – I haven’t been around this community long enough to determine that. I hope he’s for real. Holly seems to thinks so, and I know she is 100% for real.

In conclusion, visit Dukeo and let me know what you think. Maybe this review will win me the big prize, and maybe it won’t. But I’ve certainly had fun, thank you Holly and StΓ©!
