So this blog has been sleeping for a while …

Sleeping

Thanks to my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah, my Life Coach practicum, and assorted kinds of craziness, I’ve not posted here since mid-November. Oy vey. But now I’m back!

Things have been … interesting. The Bat Mitzvah was wonderful – there will be pictures. Having family and friends surround us with love was amazing, too. Then Shira and I went to Los Angeles for a few days, spending time with dear friends and playing the tourist at Disneyland and Hollywood. So much fun.

I also managed to do my practicum, and to do a few practice coaching calls (thanks, you know who you are!). I’m open to more – the only way to become a good coach is to spend a lot of time coaching. For now, and for sure while I’m not yet certified (which is bound to take a few months yet) it is completely FREE. Come get some Life Coaching for free while you can!

So what does a Life Coach do, anyway? According to my teacher Brooke Castillo, a Life Coach is someone who can help you get perspective on your life and your mind.

A Life Coach is not a friend who will commiserate with your self-induced suffering. A Life Coach is not a substitute for a therapist who will treat acute mental disorders and diseases. A Life Coach will not endlessly explore your past or allow you to retell your painful life stories, as if they were still the cause of your discomfort. Life Coaching is not cheesy. It’s not based on something shallow or unscientific. It is, more often than not, a game changer for good. From Brooke Castillo, Life Coach: How To Do It, with permission of the author.

Another thing I’ve been doing is working on my health. After the boys’ Bar Mitzvahs I suffered pretty prompt relapses of my autoimmune disorder, and this time I haven’t. I have no proof that it’s because of my better nutrition, of course, but it gives one, as the inimitable Hercule Poirot would say, furiously to think.

As we move into 2015 and I move closer to starting the Life Coaching business, in conjunction with my Isagenix business, I hope to revive my newsletter and generally get into the stream of online life again. BlackBox Cosmetics has been a bit on the back burner, as I turn my attention mostly to other things, but they have been coming out with lovely new products, and I really need to share them with you, as well.

All this to say, I anticipate a busy and exciting time in early 2015. How about you??

I think I’ve used both the terms “roller coaster ride” and “soap opera” when describing my life in 2014. It’s been everything from good to frightening, but never boring or simple. I hope to have a tinsy bit simpler 2015 with fewer frightening bits. Not sure that will happen at all!
