I can’t believe it, but it’s only six weeks until Rosh HaShanah, again. Another year has flown by. In a couple of weeks it will be Rosh Chodesh Elul, again. The shofar will sound at daily minyan, again. And Rabbi Phyllis Sommer, bless her, will have #BlogElul going again.
It’s a spiritual exercise, on blogs, on Instagram, on Vine, on Twitter, on Facebook or Tumblr or Google+, anywhere you want. The image you see here contains the prompts she has come up with for this year. You can write a blog post, you can make a video or a picture, or confine yourself to 140 characters. Whatever floats your boat. What matters is that we think about preparation for the High Holy Days, coming so very early this year. Rosh Chodesh Elul falls on Wednesday, August 7 this year, so you have time to think about it.
I realise that daily #BlogElul posts will not interest everyone who reads this blog. That’s OK. I will still post on other subjects. It’s only for 29 days. And who knows, maybe they will interest you more than you think. Who will join me?
